It has been a year since the massive earthquake and tsunami hit northern Japan. We appreciate your generous support and continued prayers over the past year. You have helped and touched so many lives.
Even though one year has passed, there are many that are still struggling with their daily lives. Most people are now in temporary housing but they don’t have a job to make a living. Many companies and fishing industries in the coastal areas were severely damaged by the tsunami.
We continue to visit these people to help them. Over the past year, we have been building relationships with the people in Oshika Peninsula. Since many don’t have a car, we deliver fresh vegetables every month. In addition, we have been giving heaters and heater carpets to senior citizens in the temporary housings. As we build relationships, we assess their needs and decide what they need the most. But “giving” is not all we do. We listen to their stories and ask for their prayer requests. Many of them have told us that they don’t want to be forgotten. They have opened their hearts to us which enabled us to share God’s hope and peace with them.
We are also ministering to children that have been under stress because of continuous aftershocks and radiation threats. They went through so much over the past year but their smiles are now back.
Please continue to pray and give. Please remember you are touching and changing so many lives! Thank you.
